So I walk into Heritage on Saturday, and on my way to the rec room I see a lady I'd seen several times, maybe said hi to once or twice.  This time she seems a lot more open, so I stop and chat with her for a while.

"So, what's your name?"
"Mickayla."
"What a nice name!"
"Mickayla Jehovah God."

I'm going to be taking a break from blogging, at least for the month of September; very likely much longer.  Increased responsibilities at Heritage and prep for GRE is taking up most of my free time.  Thank you all for reading, God bless, and I hope to be back as soon as I can!

Well, as many of you know, I help run my church's nursing home ministry, which we started in late February.  Because it was received so well by the residents at Heritage Nursing Home, we decided to start doing services there every week in the Fall.  Basically, we don't see this as starting a "ministry," but as a new church plant.  So, this Saturday ( Read more... )

 Today was Redeemer Anglican Church's fourth service at Heritage Nursing Home.  I led Morning Prayer and preached.  God really showed how gracious He is; I had no time to prepare this week, and was lazy with the time I had, so I whipped together a short sermon on Thursday and Friday, and practiced the songs Friday night- but we had a great time!   ( Read more... )

You might remember about two months ago when I visited a nursing home with my parents' church plant (Our Savior Missionary Church) to lead the residents singing Christmas carols.  I was floored by the experience, and really wanted to make it a regular thing.
